Ten years is a long, long time.

Not so much if you’re a zombie wandering the earth driven ever onward by a virus keeping your ever more decayed corpse frighteningly ambulatory, but if you’re someone trying to escape being eaten by the undead, it can feel like a damn long time indeed.

And yet, it feels like just yesterday that we met Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) in Zombieland, a film where they all met, parried and sparre, met Bill Murray and became a family.

Zombieland is fun, insightful, gritty, ridiculous and superbly well-written and acted, a gem of a zombie apocalypse film that has message and madness, insanity and humanity and is a cut above many of the other movies inhabiting what is now a very crowded, shambling genre.

You could argue that such a perfect film doesn’t need a sequel but then it’s infinitely good that Zombieland: Double Tap is here and ready to take us the decayed yellow brick road of life beyond the end of the world.

To get yourself in the zone, you should re-watch Zombieland but if time is an issue, as it is for yours truly, then these recap videos will be your saviour … well, that and your weapon of zombie head-slicing choice …

Or maybe this summary works better for you …
