SNAPSHOT
Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, Early Man tells the story of how plucky caveman Dug [Eddie Redmayne], along with sidekick Hognob, unites his tribe against the mighty Bronze Age in a battle to beat them at their own game. It also marks Nick Park’s first feature film since the Academy Award-winning Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Early Man unleashes an unforgettable cast of hilarious new characters. Nick Park and the crew at Aardman have a gift for creative richly-memorable characters.

From Wallace and Gromit to Shaun the Sheep and their delightful short film series Creature Comforts,  the stop-motion animation masters have proven winningly and consistently adept at gifting us films and TV shows filled with whimsically idiosyncratic characters, real humanity and a very silly but clever sense of humour.

They are the total animation package and it looks like their impressive streak is continuing with the first teaser trailer for Early Man, which has just gone into production in the UK.

It’s sweetly odd to be looking so far into the future for a film set so far back in the past but it looks like it will be worth the wait to be introduced to another bunch of goofy characters that will win our hearts as they do their best to advance the human race with a spear, some bravado and a killer sense of the quirkily absurd.

Just watch out for the T-Rex will ya?

Early Man releases 26 January 2018 A.D. in UK and 29 March that same year in Australia.
