This is pure genius!

Some very clever people in the marketing department of Disney New Zealand have combined the current Marvel juggernaut Avengers: Age of Ultron with its upcoming Pixar blockbuster Inside Out to create the trailer to end all trailers.

OK that might be going a tad overboard but it’s absolutely inspired, perfectly mirroring the big range of emotions we all feel when we watch movie trailers.

We get Anger (Lewis Black) cheering on Ultron’s grandly nefarious plan to save humanity by eradicating it (“These are my kind of people”), Joy (Amy Poehler) applauding Black Widow’s “I’m always picking up after you boys” remark (“Atta girl”), Fear’s (Bill Hader) nervousness about just about everything to do with the battle unfolding before him, Disgust (Mindy Kaling) actually happy with something (“This is the greatest speech ever”), and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) getting caught up in an uplifting moment only to have it all go south (“And then … SAD.”)

It’s a lot of clever fun and absolutely worth watching.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is currently in theatres while Inside Out opens on 19 June in USA and 25 June in Australia.
