Nigel has fallen in love. But when you live in orbit, aboard a ramshackle space hovel with the most risk-averse family imaginable, it isn’t easy to follow your heart – especially when the girl of your dreams is spinning around earth the wrong way! (source: YouTube)
As Romeo and Juliet made famously, and yes tragically clear, there is nothing more heartrending, in a romantic sense at least than love that cannot find its full expression. (OK maybe unrequited love but unexpressed love is a damn close second.)
In Orbit Ever After, we meet young Nigel (Jojen Reed, Game of Thrones) whose near-to-falling-apart orbital home is spinning one way while the one housing his sweet love is heading in quite the other.
Even more problematic, his family are the very definition of pragmatic, far less inclined to follow their heart than adhere to the glaring practicalities of making a living.
“There’s no point in wanting something you can’t have,” says one family member.
But Nigel, driven by literally starry-eyed ambition, and forsaking safety for the glorious liberation of true love, follows his heart with quite unexpected results that are deeply and irrevocably poignant, and will leave you deeply and profoundly moved.
Is it worth risking it all for love? You be the judge …
