Bookstores and libraries are wonderful places! Here’s the cinematic proof

In common with many people, bookstores and libraries are my happy places.

I can wander through the shelves and stacks of bookstores particularly for hours on end, enthralled by one book after another, having to fight the urge (mostly successfully) to buy everything I see.

It’s a glorious escape from the everyday, a magical place where possibilities are endless, the stories are endless and the To Be Read pile in serious danger of blowing out to ridiculous but wholly welcome proportions.

And now Luís Azevedo of Beyond the Frame has gathered together all those wonderful moments in film when characters have gloried in the thrill and joy of walking into their favourite bookstore or library.

It’s every bit as delightful as you’d expect it to be, and frankly if you don’t instantly feel the urge to go rushing off to soak in the deliciously intoxicating surrounds of your favourite bookstore or library then your book-loving soul is dead.
