Inconceivable! Inconceivable! (You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.)
No, totally conceivable actually as the imaginative folks at Gameblend Studios have shown with the release of an iOS game that features many of the scenes, characters and impossible-to-forget catchphrases from the 1987 film The Princess Bride, based on William Goldman’s 1973 novel.
That’s right!
To my great delight, Gameblend now gives you, me and everyone else who wishes they could be a part of this fairytale/fairytale satire the chance to battle the revenge-obsessed swordsman Inigo Montoya, scale the Cliffs of Insanity, evade the Shrieking Eels and even wrestle the giant Fezzik (each is a mini-game unto itself).
There are plans to also add a stage where you can test your wits with the R.O.U.S. (Rodents of Unusual Size) in the fire swamp.
All that’s needed now is the chance to storm the castle of the evil Prince Humperdinck, remembering of course that you aren’t dead, you’re just almost dead!
Oh and apart from mentioning that you can get it in the App Store for $3.99, there’s just one thing left to say …
Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You beat me at this game. Prepare to die …
[Note: I am in no way affiliated or sponsored by Gameblend Studios. I just LOVE the movie and can’t wait to be a part of it!]
