SNAPSHOT
When a scandal forces her brother to resign, Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) is appointed president of the Los Angeles Waves, one of the most storied professional basketball franchises – and also her family business. Ambitious and often overlooked, Isla will have to prove to her skeptical brothers, the board, and the larger sports community that she was the right choice for the job. From the hitmaking team of Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, Running Point puts a bold twist on the underdog comedy. Running Point is a series created and showrun by David Stassen, of The Mindy Project and History of the World: Part II previously. With writing by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, David Stassen. Featuring episodes directed by filmmaker James Ponsoldt (Smashed, The Spectacular Now, The End of the Tour, The Circle, Summering). It’s produced by Jordan Rambis; made by Kaling International in association with Warner Bros. Television as part of her overall deal. Executive produced by Kate Hudson, Howard Klein, Jeanie Buss, Linda Rambis. (courtesy First Showing)

I love sitcoms and I especially love sitcoms that feature gloriously flawed but well-meaning people trying to make a go of life even when everything seems stacked against them.

Humanity-wise at least.

Clearly, the Gordon,s who own an entire storied basketball team, are doing just fine materially … but as a family? As people? Yeah, they lack quite a lot on that front.

Which I why I think Running Point is going to be a deliciously funny show to watch and one worth bingeing while the world continues to be rabidly unhilarious in just about every possible way.

Running Point releases on Netflix on 27 February.
