Yes, yes, I know, I know, Christmas os commercialised, we’ve lost the true spirit of the season etc etc blahedy-blah-blah and on and on …
But honestly? I love Christmas ads. The good ones anyway.
Sure, they’re trying to get you to buy something but they are often superbly creative, immersively heartwarming and alive with all the love, hope and possibility of the season.
And so, I don’t care why they exist; I love that they do, that we get beautiful mini-stories in the spirit of the season contained within them, and that we can lose ourselves in some brief but quite lovely storytelling.
If it makes the heart glad, then I say enjoy it and worry not about the rest …
