For many TV or streaming viewers, seeing the finished show is enough; there’s no need to peek behind the curtain and see what led to their fully-formed, and hopefully, entertaining creation.
But there are those of us, and I count myself among them, who like to find out what was going on in the minds of the creators, what led them to come up with the show in the first place, or shape it in a particular way, or come up with the characters who make the narrative zing along.
HBO has gathered together some of their creators for these quick animated video recollections which in and of themselves are a lot of fun to watch, but which give you really interesting, valuable insight into why these shows exist and in the form they do.
You realise that shows could have gone any number of ways but some pop culture road to Damascus moment sent the creators off in a particular winning direction and we are all the better for it.
