We have a trailer for Muppets Most Wanted and I’ll bet even Statler and Waldorf would approve of it.
OK quite likely not but the fact remains that we have a brand spanking shiny new madcap trailer for the next Muppets movie, a movie that I have been looking forward to for quite some time now (see here and here).
It looks like it’s going to be every bit as madcap, quip-laden and gloriously over the top as you’d expect of a movie starring Kermit and the gang, with appearances by a host of great comic talents like Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell and cameos by everyone from Lady Gaga and Salam Hayek to Celine Dion and Christoph Waltz.
And it has an equally epic plot to go along with all the hilarity with Kermit’s evil jewel stealing doppelgänger Constantine (“It’s not easy being mean”) conniving to have Kermit locked up in a Russian prison while he takes over leadership of the Muppets who begin to wonder what’s gotten into their loveable old friend.
I mean, he’s treating Miss Piggy with hitherto unknown levels of care and devotion!
That alone should raise suspicions and it does, in what is promising to be one of the funniest, craziest, delightfully off the wall movies of 2014.
Muppets Most Wanted opens in USA 21 March 2014 and in Australia on 3 April 2014.
