Behold a most perfect together of pop culture wonderfulness!

It has been announced, no doubt from an orbiting battle cruiser somewhere high above Tattoine that Little Golden Books, that bastion of imaginative childrens’ storytelling in very small packaging, will be soon be journeying to a galaxy far, far away, releasing editions for all six Star Wars movies currently in existence.

(The odds of a Star Wars: The Force Awakens edition must surely also be very good, you would think.)

Entertainment Weekly reveals that the distinctive golden spines that adorn the books will feature a host of familiar and well loved Star Wars characters.

As you might expect, Disney, who now owns Lucasfilm, watchful guardians of the Star Wars franchise, are a mite excited (as are we all!)about this most exciting of developments, saying in a press release from Jeanne Mosure, Senior Vice President, Group Publisher:

“The Star Wars franchise has woven itself into the hearts and minds of generations of fans, many of whom read Little Golden Books as children. We’re very excited to be incorporating Little Golden Books into our overarching strategy so parents can now introduce their own children to the wonders of the galaxy through this classic format.”

The first six books will be released July 28 with a box set to follow on September 1.

May The Little Golden Books Force be with you.
