Gromit’s concern that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions proves justified, when Wallace invents a “smart” gnome that seems to develop a mind of its own. When it emerges that a vengeful figure from the past might be masterminding things, it falls to Gromit to battle sinister forces and save his master… or Wallace may never be able to invent again!Key credits that have been announced include Matt Perry (production design), Dave Alex Riddett (director of photography), Dan Hembery (editor), and Lorne Balfe and Julian Nott (original score). Richard Beek produced. Park, Burton, Sarah Cox, Peter Lord, and Carla Shelley executive produced. (courtesy Cartoon Brew)
Aardman Animations is a wonderful slice of pop culture perfection.
Their stop-motion delights combine rich visual artistry, idiosyncratically lovable characters and some imaginatively offbeat but heartwarming storytelling to impossibly wonderful effect each and every time and they are honestly what you need whenever life feels like it’s too much or, yes, too little.
The geniuses of stop-motion are back with a new Wallace & Gromit feature which sees the return of a fowl villain who made life so difficult for the odd couple of British animation back in their 1993 short, The Wrong Trousers.
It ticks all the Aardman we love and crave and arrives right in the middle of the holiday season when we can properly sit back, grab a nice cup of tea and some Wensleydale Cheese and enjoy it.
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl releases 3 January 2025 on Netflix.
