Movies that combine a sense of escapist fun and some meaningful, if light, explorations of love and humanity are always just what this cinema doctor ordered.
This time around there are not one but two movies on offer, both of which diversionarily delightful and guaranteed to put a smile on your race … and honestly with the world once again sending itself to hell in a well-worn handcart, that is no bad thing!
Grab the popcorn, get ready to laugh and kick those reality blues far away!

Summer Camp tells the story of Nora (Keaton), Ginny (Bates), and Mary (Woodard), who have been best friends since being inseparable at summer camp. As the years have passed, they’ve seen each other less & less, so when the chance to reunite for a summer camp reunion arises, they all take it, some begrudgingly, others excitedly. Each of their lives might not be where they’d imagined, but one thing is for sure — Nora, Ginny, and Mary need each other, and summer camp reminds them why. Summer Camp is written and directed by the American actress / writer / filmmaker Castille Landon, director of Albion: The Enchanted Stallion, Apple of My Eye, Fear of Rain, After We Fell, After Ever Happy, Perfect Addiction, and After Everything previously. It’s produced by Diane Keaton, Alex Saks, Tyler W. Konney, Dori A. Rath, Stephanie Heaton-Harris. This was filmed on location in & around Asheville, North Carolina. (courtesy First Showing)
Summer Camp releases in U.S. on 31 May.
