SNAPSHOT
This action-packed new chapter sees an extraction team race to the most dangerous place on Earth, an island research facility for the original Jurassic Park, inhabited by the worst of the worst that were left behind. Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion (released in 2022), the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind. Jurassic World Rebirth is directed by the acclaimed British sci-fi filmmaker Gareth Edwards, director of the sci-fi movies Monsters, Godzilla, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and The Creator previously. The screenplay is written by David Koepp (of Jurassic Park, Carlito’s Way, Mission: Impossible, Premium Rush, Inferno, Kimi). Produced by Frank Marshall Patrick Crowley. Made by Amblin Entertainment and The Kennedy/Marshall Company. (courtesy First Showing)
We are back it seems to dinosaurs as monsters.
And while that might not be entirely fairly to the dinosaurs, (a) they aren’t around, and haven’t been for some 65 million years to sue us for character defamation and (b) it makes for damn good, super scary, jump-if-someone-breathes-next-to-you cinematic fun!
This time our band of intrepid adventurers who aim to get the dino DNA that could cure all kinds of disease with a miracle drug – but you know, will most likely just trigger a zombie apocalypse because that is the way these things go in our dark and cynical age – will face off the scariest dinosaurs of them all and we will be, quite happily, along for the ride, popcorn trembling ever so in hand.
Strap yourself in! That roar you hear could be a fearsome predatory dino or it could be the anticipatory excitement of Jurassic Park/World fans readying themselves for the release of Jurassic World: Rebirth on 2 July in U.S. and 3 July in Australia.
