Finding Dory is one of the standout hits of a packed animated feature film slate this year.
A sequel to 2003’s Finding Nemo that was as fresh, sweet and heartfelt as its predecessor, Finding Dory is an absolute joy to watch as I remarked in my review of the film:
“Dory is adorably and heartwarmingly the centre of this film, one which takes much the same bare bones story as Finding Nemo but fashions it into a complex, visually-lush, emotionally-moving story of love and loss, devotion and tenacity, the light and dark of life, and a healthy dose of plain old silly goofiness.”
Now as if all that wonder, and chaotic sweetly-emotional story wasn’t enough, Disney have graced with the emoji-told version of the film, that like Star Wars: The Force Awakens before it, sheds a whole new light on the lovable Blue Tang’s search for her long-lost parents with a delightful visual and narrative economy that only adds to the appeal of Pixar’s latest masterpiece.
