Star Trek: Picard tells the next story of Picard’s life, which takes place after the events of Star Trek: Next Generation. Series creator Alex Kurtzman previously described the series as a “very thoughtful, psychological portrait in a lot of ways… Things have changed for [Picard] and changed him in some ways, and yet he is so deeply and fundamentally still Picard.” Season 2 is expected to see Picard dealing with time travel as he tries to save the future. The teaser trailer for Star Trek: Picard season 2 has landed!

Not so the series which is not expected to debut until 2022 – damn you COVID and your many annoying delays – but at least we now know it’s on its way and we’ll have all the time in the world to watch it.

Or will we?

That is the galaxy-ending question it seems in a trailer which features Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) sans Borg implants and the return of Q (John Delancie) who is a popular antihero for many fans of Star Trek.

He does, however, leave this pop culture blogger cold; he comes across as too much of a bully to be fun to watch but one thing he is, and I assume that’s why he’s back, is that he’s a brilliant for someone like Picard (Patrick Stewart).

That is, why despite my dismay at Q’s return (likely mine is a lone voice), I am eagerly awaiting the return of Picard which promises some truly tense and amazing television, especially with time coming to an end … or is it?

Tick tock, tick tock my friends …

Here’s the earlier teaser trailer …
