In addition to a brand-new final trailer, Avatar: The Way of Water, the long-awaited sequel to 2009’s Avatar has released nine characters posters of a film that as well being narratively epic in scope is similarly-sized when it comes to its 192-minute running time.
Taking us back to the world of the Na’vi, a deeply spiritual people who live in harmony with nature on the planet Pandora until a colonising force from Earth comes along, determined to ruthlessly exploit the planets for their industrially brutal ends, forcing the people, and those humans who either sympathise with them or become one with them to stand and fight for a culture under threat of extinction and desecration.
Quite whether the thirteen-year wait has been worth the wait is yet to be determined but suffice to say the series of awe-inducing trailers and these nine magnificent posters, which profile the major characters in the film, inspire great hope that we will get a film worthy of all the hype, hope and preamble.
Avatar: The Way of Water opens on 15 December in Australia and 16 December in USA.
