The Secret Life of Pets 2 will follow summer 2016’s blockbuster about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy will produce the sequel to the comedy that had the best opening ever for an original film, animated or otherwise. The Secret Life of Pets 2 will see the return of writer Brian Lynch (Minions) and once again be directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me series, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax). (synopsis courtesy Coming Soon)
Character posters have become quite the thing in recent years and while The Secret Life of Pets 2 has already gone down that road back in April, they’re having another bite at this particular artistic cherry with new posters which have some fun with a whole new style.
In short, each of these posters are made up of elements that define and delights the various main characters, shedding (pun intended) a whole new light on the delightfully droll denizens of the expanding The Secret Life of Pets universe.
Not only do the posters convey more about the characters, but they also convey the wonderful sense of mischievous fun that made the first film such a delight; it was heartfelt for sure, but it was also hilariously, cleverly silly too and the posters encapsulate that rather nicely.
Throw in a brand new trailer and we have the best of all possible appetisers as we count down to the release of The Secret Life of Pets 2 on 24 May in UK, 7 June in USA and 20 June in Australia.
