Firefly, a show that only last 14 episodes before being cancelled by Fox, in one of the greatest misjudgements in TV history (and so say all of us!), continues to grow from strength to strength.

With a passionate fan base known as The Browncoats behind it every step of the way, the little sci-fi show that could has spawned a movie sequel, Serenity, online role playing game, Funko collectables, comics, and now, a 180 piece trading card set with all original art that shines a whole new light on this much-loved ‘verse.

Released by Upper Deck, the set comes with all sorts of goodies notes The Cardboard Connection including foil, canvas and sketch cards that come with original art done directly onto them.

Some of the artwork is likely to belong to Robert Jimenez who has created some brilliant sci-fi pulp novels-inspired art which the crew of the good ol’ Serenity a whole new retro look that suits them very well.

As well as being part of the Upper Deck Firefly set, which releases 15 September, Jimenez will have the paintings available to purchase on his website once the cards are on sale (make sure you check all the rest of his amazing art too!).
