What if you could talk to animals and understand what they’re saying? In Disney / Pixar’s all-new feature film Hoppers, scientists have discovered how to “hop” human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals! The adventure introduces Mabel, an animal lover who seizes an opportunity to use the technology, uncovering mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined… Hoppers is written and directed by American animator / artist / filmmaker Daniel Chong (a CalArts graduate), director of We Bare Bears: The Movie and the We Bare Bears series, and a story artist on Bolt, Kung Fu Panda 2, Cars 2, Epic, and Inside Out. Nothing gladdens the heart like some superlatively done Pixar animatory magic!
We’ve just enjoyed the buoyantly imaginative delights of Elio, and knowing that the next Pixar gem is not all that far away makes the heart gladden and puts a bounce in the step.
Even more so, when the teaser trailer is full of some very funny moments such as our human-in-an-animal-body protagonist interrupting a predator/prey moment to absolutely hilarious effect.
This looks funny and sweet and just the thing for a world that seems to have forgotten how good it feels to laugh … and laugh a lot.
Hoppers premieres in cinemas on 5 March 2026 in Australia and 6 March 2026 in U.S.
