Merry Christmas in books and movies and on streaming platforms and in song … may all your pop culture festive dreams come true

In honour of Winnie the Pooh’s first appearance in a story by A. A. Milne and the 75th anniversary of Peanuts first cartoon, this year’s Christmas greeting centres on these two groups of characters.

I have loved both of them ever since I was a child after discovering my mom’s paperback copies of the two Winnie the Pooh books and finding Peanuts comic strips in collections at the local secondhand bookstore where they sold for a heady 20c each.

So, as we celebrate two big anniversaries, may you have the best of all Christmases with characters who make it feel like the festive season all year round …

May you have lots of festive fun with friends …

Convey your wishes to Santa…

Get just the right Christmas tree …

You find some heartwarming magic with friends …

You stay true to what Christmas means to you … and you practise being kind …

Finally, it’s 60 years since A Charlie Brown Christmas hit our screens … I love this celebration of this enduring festive special …
