Stream, stream my televisual dream: Top 25 TV-streaming shows of 2025

It may amuse you to learn, and it certainly amuses many of my friends, that I maintain a very long list of TV shows possibilities, which I either tick off if I manage to see them, or cross of as reviews come in and they are deemed not worth my too much in-demand time, or as in the case of Pluribus, which is a brilliant show but not my cup of tea thank you, they freak the bejesus out of me.

This year’s list had 67 shows on it and I’ll be honest that despite my best efforts, I didn’t make quite the dent in it that I hoped to.

In fact, the number of shows consumed, in whole or in part, land somewhere in the twenties, and while that’s a super healthy number for anyone, since watching TV short be fun and not an onerous task, it meant that plenty of shows I wanted to watch never made it onto my streaming priorities or if they did, had all the episodes watched.

I am inclined, because I am very hard on myself, to remonstrate with myself and demand that I do better next time, but the fact is, TV/streaming should be diversionary, escapist and a delight and if safeguarding that means watching fewer shows, then so be it.

In the end, I am happy with what I watched and as you’ll see from the list below, I got a brilliantly varied serving of shows and storytelling, all of which played their part in making life feel that little bit more interesting …
