Halo was one of the big surprises of my 2022 viewing year.
Having not played the game, and been burned one too many times by subpar adaptations, I flicked it on not really expecting all that much, and while it’s no Foundation, its world-building and storytelling was such that I found myself happily immersed through the nine-episode first season run. (Read my full reviews of episodes 1-5 and episodes 6-9).
It’s been a while been battle-hardened drinks but excitingly the second season of Halo is well and truly coming our way with the first two episodes, “Sanctuary” and “Sword” dropping in just a few weekss.
Being thrust back into this epically written space opera will be a real pleasure, especially if the quality of the production holds up, which the trailer suggests it will, and we get to see how great a cost humanity will have to pay for the sins of its expansively imperial past.
Halo season two begins streaming on Paramount+ on 8 February with the eight-episode run ending 21 March.
