It seems that everything these days is turning to LEGO.

This is not, of course, even remotely a bad thing and merely confirms what I instinctively knew to the core of my being at the age of five, that the world would be a far better place of everything was made of LEGO.

OK well maybe not everything – pillows and trampoline, for instance, may not be as comforting or fun respectively if they were made of brightly coloured plastic blocks – but you get the idea.

LEGO is fun, it’s creative and offers a whole lot of possibilities for anyone with the imagination to make the most of it.

And now hot on the heels of other successful games releases and the much-loved and very well-received The LEGO Movie comes the accompanying LEGO game for the soon-to-be-released movie Jurassic World, the first film in the venerable franchise since 2001’s Jurassic World III (by which point the makers were clearly so bored with the concept that they didn’t even try for a halfway clever name.)

It’s chock full of all kinds of pleasing references to the world’s favourite dinosaur movies, including some delightful nods to the movie that started it all in 1993, Jurassic Park, along with funny visual jokes (ever seen a T-Rex knock itself out on a humongous fallen tree? You have now).

LEGO Jurassic World will be released in June on a wide variety of formats, in time naturally enough for Jurassic World itself which opens June 11 in Australia, June 12 in USA and UK.
