It’s no secret that NBC has not exactly had a love affair to end all love affairs with Community.
While it has renewed the show for a fifth season – with Dan Harmon back on board which has me ridiculously excited! – it is yet to schedule an air date for the show which will appear at some indeterminate point in NBC’s 2013/14 season.
It’s impossible to say if it will be make it to the much ballyhooed #sixseasonsandamovie goal line but with Dan Harmon back as showrunner, it has an excellent chance of at least regaining the comedic spark that dimmed somewhat in its enjoyable but inconsistent fourth season.
Whether it attracts the required number of viewers to keep it on the air is another matter entirely and consistent on how much effort NBC wants to put into promoting it.
With a slew of new sitcoms in the schedule such as The Michael J Fox Show, Sean Saves the World, About a Boy and The Family Guide, which may or may go the distance, Community could appear at any time.
But who knows when that will be exactly?
One thing we do know is that Community gone into syndication with Comedy Central and kicks off its run there on 20 September.
And guess what?
They’re actually promoting the fact!
I’m amazed, you’re no doubt amazed, and yes, as this hilarious if short promo makes clear, Joel McHale, Yvette Nicole Brown and ken Jeong from Community as well nigh gobsmacked with wonder.
