The novelty of watching a movie for the first time, particularly one you end up loving and adoring more than popcorn itself, never grows old.

But alas watching those favourite movies most certainly does.

It’s not that you don’t enjoy re-watching them – though in my world that’s  a really rare occurrence with so many new films I want to see – simply that the grand, all-encompassing thrill of seeing them for the first time, of starting a whole new cinematic love affair is Gone, Baby Gone (also a movie I love).

But what if, ponder comedians Ron Funches and Matt Braunger, the cinema-obsessed protagonists of Movie Mind Machine, a film directed, and co-written with Eric Cunningham by Maureen Bharoocha, you could wipe your memories of ever having watched the film and enjoy just like brand-new all over again. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

Yes it would! But it would also probably do a number on your brain and your grip on reality which, in the hands of these two very funny men, is hilarious.

And it makes you appreciate the fact that the novelty of a film is best enjoyed the one time only, the better to keep your sanity and a firm grip on your bucket of popcorn.
