In The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, Porky Pig and Daffy Duck venture to the big screen as unlikely heroes and Earth’s only hope when their antics at a local bubble gum factory uncover a secret alien mind control plot. Faced with cosmic odds, the two are determined to save their own town (and the world!)… that is if they don’t drive each other totally looney in the process. The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie is directed by animation filmmaker Peter Browngardt, director of the anim short The Curse of the Monkey Bird and other Looney Tunes cartoons in the last few years; he also wrote many animated specials. With a script by Darrick Bachman, Peter Browngardt, Kevin Costello, Andrew Dickman, David Gemmill, Alex Kirwan, Ryan Kramer, Jason Reicher, Michael Ruocco, Johnny Ryan, Eddie Trigueros. Produced by Bonnie Arnold. Made by Warner Bros Animation. (courtesy First Showing)

It is always a good year when the comedic brilliance of Looney Tunes is given another off-the-leash chance to do its manically funny thing.

Which, of course, makes 2025, which has a lot of negatives already tipping the balance against it, a very good year indeed.

And the latest trailer for The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie looks as off-the-charts bonkers mental as you could wish for with Daffy being Daffy and Porky, well dear sweet Porky trying to fix up all the mess.

It will make our hearts glad, our mouths laugh and may just redeem a little of this year back to the side of good, aliens or no aliens.

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie opens wide in U.S. on 14 March and in Australia wide on 27 March.
