Gordon Goose, so his official page says, is a “typical corpo goose with atypical life” with a work life that is, we’re assured, even worse than the one you’re enduring.
Still, even with all that corporate existential angst drilling a great big hole into his soul, Gordon finds way in this hugely entertaining short to use his time in the office to good festive effect.
Typing away so furiously on his keyboard that the plastic keys bounce like water droplets as a T-Rax passes – thank you Jurassic Park for that potent imagery which has now, rather magically, been linked to a Christmas post – he designs a program that’s only supposed to light up the small tree on his desk.
That the program works, well, eventually, isn’t a surprise because Gordon is nothing if not determined, but it’s how well it works that’s highly amusing.
There’s no fun in spoiler-ing the ending but suffice to say that Gordon’s tenacious determination to make this desk festively pop goes wider and bigger than even he expected.
It’s funny, silly, heartwarming and quite, quite lovely and it may just make your night, and at 1:28, it’s easy to find time in the middle of all the Christmas shopping and partying!
