Mother’s Nature is a series of vignettes with a playful twist on what it means to be a mom, whether you’re a turtle, parrot or anything in between. Directed by Valerie LaPointe and Produced by Claire Munzer and Paige Johnstone. (courtesy YouTube (c) Pixar)
This is such a DELIGHT.
While not officially a Pixar short – though they are not an endangered species, no longer appearing ahead of the animation studio’s feature films like they did in the good old days – this collection of vignettes does come with the official Pixar stamp of approval with First Showing noting that “it is directed by a storyboard artist / story supervisor who works at Pixar”.
The three-minute bundle of animated bliss has a huge amount of fun with all kinds of well-used parental phrases, happy to be really silly at times, especially when it comes to dung beetles and spiders.
Oh, and by way of a useful tip, don’t ever accept an invitation for dessert at a bird’s nest – you’ll thank me later.
While it was technically released for Mother’s Day, it’s a joy to watch whenever you need brief burst of animated playfulness which let’s face it, right now, is all the time.
