There is such a tender loveliness to this beautiful short film.

If you have ever struggled with depression, you will easily identify with how hard it is to get out of your head and to just let yourself go and be in the moment.

Too much is weighing down up to even feel remotely like you can be free but in Soft Rain, Written and directed by Sacha Goedegebure, for one small perfect moment, a depressed man finds release and transcendant joy.

It’s incredibly charming and sweet but it carries a hefty emotional weight that really cuts to the heart of what it is like to be dealing with depression and how moments of escapist delight, if you let yourself enjoy them, are such a wonderful release.

And, happily, might lead to something lastingly heartwarming and delightful.
