A new comedy series created by Matilda Curtis and Ashley Storrie, Dinosaur follows Nina (Ashley Storrie), an autistic woman in her 30s, who adores living with her sister and best friend, Evie. They have a routine, and they understand each other like no one else could until Evie rushes into an engagement after only six weeks. Nina is forced to grapple with her sister’s impulsive decision whilst navigating love, sisterhood and her life as it’s turned upside down. (courtesy Hulu / YouTube)
Dinosaur looks quirky, hilarious and sweetly, seriously meaningful.
It’s very much in the vein of many modern British comedies which hold fast to the daffy comedic sensibilities of old while injecting some ferociously insightful seriousness into proceedings.
So, you get your laughs but you also an emotional hit to the guts and honestly, if that isn’t life in all its contradictory glory then I don’t know what is.
No sign of of this will appear on Disney+ in Australia but a guy can hope, right?
