Unless you’ve been living in a galaxy far, far away a long, long time ago, you’ll probably be aware of the fact that Alden Ehrenreich has been chosen to play a younger Han Solo, in one of series of Star Wars films designed to give us some backstory on its key characters.
The first Han Solo film, the first of a possible trilogy of tales if fans get their way, should be out in the northern summer of 2018, written by long time Star wars scribe Lawrence Kasdan and directed by the men who brought us The LEGO Movie, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
What you may not know is that actors of the comedic stature of Melissa McCarthy, Bill Hader, Thomas Middleditch and Kumail Nanjiani also auditioned for the prestigious gig, their tryouts captured for all eternity by good old Conan O’Brien, host of Conan on TBS, who reveals them in all their amusing glory.
Honestly if Mel Brooks ever decides to make a Han Solo prequel parody, he will be spoiled by the wealth of talent at his disposal.
Now sit back, enjoy, get ready to laugh and see if you can’t make the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs alone through sheer hilarity alone.
