SNAPSHOT
Gwen has lived at Christmas Tree Farm for many years. It’s where she’s built a life, a business and a place to call home. But after her beloved husband Paddy dies, it’s time to downsize and move on.

But when nine-year-old Willow, a distant relative of Paddy’s, arrives on her doorstep in urgent need of a place to stay, everything changes. And now, with the purchase of her new property falling through, Gwen needs to make some money, and fast.

With the help of Willow, his mum’s friend Horse, and Lara the social worker, she reopens her business selling Christmas trees for one last season. But with the mega-corporate Christmas Tree World as new neighbours, can her tranquil offering tempt the customers in?

This will be her last Christmas at her beloved farm. But endings can become beginnings, and could love, friendship and a sense of belonging flourish here . . . ? (courtesy Goodreads)

OK so true festive confessions time.

Nope, nothing salacious, sorry to disappoint you all; rather, as a hugely aspirational book reader who believes he will one day get through all 600 books on his eternal TBR, I keep buying way more Christmas romcoms than I will ever get through in a single season.

Yes, 12 of those get swallowed into the happy mid year joy of Christmas in July but even so, there’s still lots of books left over.

Having said that, and you will note I indeed have, I am still going to order another 15 or so of this year’s additions to the festive romcom canon, and I will do my best to read as many of them as possible and yes, I am pretty confident that the new one from Jo Thomas will make the cut.

What’s not to love about a story of hope, love, family and second chances? Everything, the answer is EVERYTHING, and I can’t wait to dive in and feel like the season is really delivering all kinds of new life vibes.

Love From Christmas Tree Farm published 22 October 2026.
