HUGE confession to make! HUGE!
I am have somehow managed to not watch season 4 and 5 of Rick and Morty, the gloriously quirky, hilariously weird and downright subversive cartoon about a very flawed but strangely heroic grandfather and his timid, far more conservative grandson who spend their time racing through time and space and across the multiverse, often pursued by creatures who are scary, funny, deeply strange … or, ideally, all three!
It is an absolute nonsensical but also heartfelt show to watch which manages to make some very cool observations about humanity while putting the pedal to the very weird metal (which, as it turns out, is a very deliberate strategy says co-creator Dan Harmon, who dreamt up the show with Justin Roiland).
There’s been lots of bizarrely fun things happen to date, and likely more to come if this trailer is any indication and honestly this seems to the perfect time to go full Pickle Rick and get my Rick and Morty mojo back!
Rick and Morty season 6 premieres on 21 September on Adult Swim and likely Netflix in Australia shortly thereafter.
