Oh my lord but this is INSPIRED!
If ever you wanted a takedown of the post-truth culture raging unchecked and without thought or care for the damage it does through society, then this is it.
Regular Rabbit is both fiendishly clever and artfully animated, a fantastically engaging short film narrated with vivacity by Rory McCann that tells the story of a bunny who is traumatised and broken by events far beyond his control until things, TERRIBLE things, happen.
While there is undoubtedly great darkness in Regular Rabbit and some sage urgently-needed lessons to be heeded, it is also funny in ways mischievous and silly, its Irish influences very much apparent, granting the short film a richness of execution (word deliberately used; you’ll find out why) but also a whimsy and charm and some pretty intense emotional heft.
Regular Rabbit deserves to be savoured and valued and its lessons taken onboard lest the death of truth come to be irreversible and irredeemable, something no on in their right mind wants.
