The third and final season of the American television series Star Trek: Picard features the character Jean-Luc Picard during the 25th century as he reunites with the former command crew of the USS Enterprise (Geordi La Forge, Worf, William Riker, Beverly Crusher, and Deanna Troi), who are being hunted by a mysterious new enemy, Vadic. Goodbyes are always hard.
That’s true of any situation including characters from TV shows, making you realise how much time has passed and how little is left.
In the case of Picard‘s final season, which brings back all your Star Trek: The Next Generation favourites for one last civilisation-saving spin around the galaxy, it’s all the more poignant because after saying farewell when the TV show ended and then when the feature films that followed came to a close, we are really saying goodbye to the gang this time.
It’s hard to conceive of these actors, all of whom are not as young as they once were, coming back again so this looks like it’s it; thankfully, says Trekcore, there’s a lot of great action and adventure instore which should make this one last bout of boldly going a fitting sendoff to a wonderful crew and a three-season show that has more than justice to the Picard legacy.
Star Trek: Picard season three premieres the first of ten episodes on Paramount+ on 16 February, running until 20 April 2023.
