It’s bloody art! Every Game of Thrones handdrawn for your flipping pleasure

A lot of people have died on Game of Thrones.

A LOT.

If you’re dedicated viewer of the watercooler conversation-dominating medieval saga, which is gearing for a considerably shortened two final seasons this year and next – or a standard season split into two purely by marketing/ratings and not creative necessity – you’ll be well aware that many lives have been lost on the show over six blood-soaked seasons of jostling for power and influence.

Quite how much death has filled the show’s screen time becomes (literally) obvious graphically through a highly-engaging flip book form courtesy of Austrian artist Hannes Sommer aka Hanso Art, in which all the many and varied deaths of the blighted inhabitants of Westeros and surrounding lands are laid bare.

Done in a very clever one shot take, the video is mesmerisingly good, while also functioning as a quick catch-you-up on who’s died and how.

You can rest assured there will be a sequel to this inventive demonstration of death’s all too close relationship with the powermongers of Game of Thrones, given that season 7 sees not only the continued struggle for the Iron Throne, but also the invasive arrival of the White Walkers led by the terrifyingly cold (in every respect) Night King.

It’s a horrific threat to everyone in Westeros, but you can guarantee that won’t stop the infighting, or of course, the endless deaths.

Best get your pen ready again Hannes!
