Another week and more trailers to remind that us, all evidence to the contrary, there is still life and creativity and vigour out there in the world.
Thankfully since Sydney remains in hard lockdown, two of the three in this triple pick of trailers are available via streaming which means that those of us who either can’t go out or are outside-averse, can still take in this cinematic and animated beauty.
They offer some thrillingly dark sci-fi, an edge of your seat thriller and an brilliantly expansive and stunningly imaginative nine-part Mesoamerican epic.

When Isaac (Johnny Sachon) wakes up inside a strange room he discovers he’s actually a prisoner, who has been sent into space to start Earth’s first off-world colony as a new punishment. Worse still, he finds he has a cellmate, Alana (Lottie Tolhurst), who is hell bent on blowing them up and destroying everything. Solitary is both written and directed by British filmmaker Luke Armstrong, making his feature directorial debut after numerous short films previously, as well as work in visual effects.
