Had an awful 2020?

I hear ya, but spare a thought for Santa in this brilliant ad from the Norwegian Postal Service, who is very much down despondent about the state of the world and his once-storied place in it.

With everything going wrong, Santa no longer feels he has relevancy or purpose, as he tells his therapist who is paying a housecall to Santa in his North Pole which is sitting a little too close to an ice cliff under assault from climate change-induced melting, and he’s so unhappy he’s even ordering reindeer for dinner.

Yup, it’s that bad.

Is there way from a serious case of existential malaise?

As it turns out there is, and it comes in the form of a Norwegian postal worker delivering letters to Santa who wishes him “Merry Christmas”, and in so doing, sparks a renewal in Santa that shows it’s the little things that count.

Especially at Christmas and in a year that’s been as nasty as this one.
