SNAPSHOT
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters, played by [Tatiana] Maslany, as she navigates her life as a lawyer who specializes in superhuman-oriented legal cases. The series will dive into her personal life as a single 30-something that also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. Along with Maslany in the starring role, the cast of the series will include numerous new faces and returning MCU vets, including Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong. Gotta say from the outset – I’m not a massive fan of the Hulk.

Granted Mark Ruffalo nuanced portrayal of the character has endeared him more to me than was previously the case but green superheroes are generally not my thing.

Which is why I was delighted, thrilled and ridiculously happy to discover that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is actually really, really good; well, if the trailer is any indication anyway and good lord I really hope it is!

Starring the brilliantly gifted Tatiana Maslany, who gave life, breadth and affecting depth to Orphan Black, the series look very funny (“Oh, I’m not a superhero. That is for billionaires and narcissists and adult orphans for some reason”), meta in a very clever way and full of the kind of humanity that has endeared the less macho parts of the MCU to me in ways I never thought possible.

Will I like her when she’s angry? I very much think I will.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premieres on 17 August on Disney Plus.
