You might think that pop culture characters, with an army of writers eager to craft their every move, would have love covered, their romantic lives are a place of perfect fulfilment (well, eventually after some trials and obstacles are dispensed with).

But according to a delightful animation by Leigh Lahav, you would be wrong.

Katniss Everdeen, hero of the revolution is fed up to the insurgency with being asked what’s it like being a hero to her people, Sherlock and Watson seem to differ on the exact nature of their relationship, and Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia … well let’s just say it’s a bit awkward.

Hermione of Harry Potter fame isn’t deep in the arms of love true love admitting “Let’s just say I’m fine with settling” while a sweetly clueless (or well aware of how much he’s “married” up) Ron Weasley gives the thumbs up, Loki huffily dismisses any idea of needing a partner – although it may be more bravado than truth so the playing of Simon and Garfunkel’s melancholy ode to loneliness “The Sound of Silence” might indicate – and Groot, well Groot, simply has this to say: ” I am Groot” (but you saw that coming, right?).

Their love lives may be far from visions of fictionalised perfection but this piece of animation by Lahav is as perfect as you could hope for, a wonderful mix of whimsy, humour, pithy commentary and top notch animation.

You may not be in love but trust me you will love this.
