The Angry Birds Movie 3 is once again directed by animation filmmaker John Rice, director of The Angry Birds 2 and Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe movie previously, plus lots of TV animation work including episodes of King of the Hill, Rick and Morty, Neighbors from Hell, Beavis & Butt-Head. The screenplay is written by Thurop Van Orman (co-director on The Angry Birds Movie 2). Produced by John Cohen, Dan Chuba, Carla Connor, Namit Malhotra. I am huge fan of animation, and thanks to the willing participation of my nieces and nephews and the ease of streaming platforms, I have been able to watch a metric ton of it in the last twenty years or so.
One of the franchises that I ignored at first was The Angry Birds, mainly because I hadn’t played the games and thought it was a simple branding cash grab; a friend, however, thought I would love the movies’ mix of colour, hilarity and heart and good lord they were right on the money.
I saw the first two films and loved them and as we draw near to the end of the year, and I am ragged and exhausted from endless deadlines and impossible workloads, I absolutely need a third instalment to drive some of that stress far away.
It appears my wish has been granted …
The Angry Birds Movie 3 drops 12 December in Australia and 23 December in U.S.
