Pack your bags son, I am taking you on a “Guilt Trip”

I have a great relationship with my mum.

We talk regularly, talk deeply about all sort of issues and laugh at silly jokes late at night when everyone else is sound asleep.

She’s a great lady and when I see her, we get on brilliantly well.

But even I would think twice about jumping into a car with her and heading off on a trip.

No such thought occurs to entrepreneur and inventor Andy Brewster (Seth Rogen), or they occur too late to be of any real use, when he decides to invite his mum (Barbra Streisand in fine form) along for a road trip to sell a new product he’s convinced is his ticket to business success.

In clips that have me alternating between riotous amusement – not as violent as it sounds – and cringing with embarrassment, this looks like the sort of movie that I will thoroughly enjoy.

And that will likely largely be thanks to Seth Rogen’s goofy charm, and Barbra Streisand’s brilliant comic abilities seen to hilariously good effect in What’s Up Doc? (1972) and Meet the Fockers (2004, in which she carried a movie that frankly didn’t have a lot else going for it, no matter how hard Robert De Niro tried).

You can see moviefone’s selection and dissection of one of the best clips here.
