One of the things I love most about going to the movies, and yes, I’m definitely not alone in this, is being able to escape the humdrum tedium of life for just a little while.

As I write this, that includes my second bout of COVID, thank you NOT very much, which has confined me to my room once again, and while thanks to books and streaming, I am not wholly trapped there, I do miss being able to wander around my apartment, my street and yes, to the cinema.

So the idea of being able to go and see the fifth and sadly final Indiana jones film in just four weeks is thrilling because do I get to go TO the movies, but I am seeing a film that is all about the pure thrill of escapist entertainment.

Big stakes. Good vs. evil. Thrills, spills and action. Characters in peril. Indy has it all and soon it will all be mine (and yeah a good few tens of millions besides) and out in the real world where, for once, it won’t be so bad to be.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny opens 29 June in Australia and 30 June in U.S.
