What if Inside Out was just the Out bits? Watch and see …

Inside Out is hands down and hearts on our sleeve one of the best movies that Pixar has ever made, and arguably one of the best films of 2015.

Much of its appeal and its heartfelt effect on audiences comes from the way it gives us not just the outside comings and goings and visible responses of protagonist Riley, but how it then takes right into her heart and mind so we can see what’s going on behind-the-scenes.

It’s ingenious, cleverly-written and joy (and yes more than a little sad at times) to watch.

But what if the inside bits were excised and you only had the outside parts to rely on? What kind of film would it be then?

Not even close to being the same of course since much of what makes it special would be gone, but as this edit titled Inside Out: Outside Edition by fan Jordan Hanzon, based, notes Collider on an idea by “Rickroy37”, makes clear, it’s still an interesting study in humanity and the way people interact with others, especially members of their own family.

Sure you miss Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger and a certain imaginary being, and the unique perspective they gave you on Riley’s life, but this is an inspired idea that underscores how brilliant a film Inside Out on many levels.
