“So quiet up, and listen down. Nope. Scratch that, reverse it.”
When it comes to diving behind the scenes of a favourite movie or TV show, you either relish the chance to have the curtain pulled back or you blanche in horror at the idea that you’ll find out far too much and the magic will be dissipated.
If you’re in the former camp, you’ll find the following “bonus content” to be a “wild and wonderful wishy-washy” wonder but if you’re not … well, best go and find something else to do for the next 11 minutes.
Should you take the plunge into this look at all the colour, spectacle, humour, music and fun of Wonka, which was a delight to watch from its mischievous ambitious start to its heartwarmingly triumphant end, you will have fun seeing what went into making this most scrumptiously delicious and musically zestful of films.
As prequels to much-loved classics (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) go, Wonka is an absolute gem and having a little bit of extra scrumptiousness to go around can’t be a bad thing.
Wonka releases on DVD/Blu-Ray and 4K UHD in Australia on 13 March.
