If only: An art exhibition that showcases posters for movie sequels we wish had been made

Have you noticed something when it comes to the sorts of movies Hollywood produces?

They never seem to make sequels of the movies we really want to immerse ourselves in again and churn ones for movies better left alone – Speed 2 anyone? Nah I didn’t think so.

Thankfully, Sequel, an art show that was staged at the iam8bit gallery in Los Angeles from November 13 to 23 this year did its best to remedy that, giving us, in poster form at least and from 40 very talented artists, sequels to movies that always begged for a follow-on, at least in our geeky wish-list imaginations.

The list is extensive and includes the titles featured as well as Labyrinth 2, The Goonies and the Legend of SasquatchBlade Runner 2054, Fight Club: The 2nd Rule, Bigger Trouble in Little China, and Willy Wonka and the Great Glass Elevator, as well as a host of others.

The best part for anyone who couldn’t make it to Los Angeles is that you can order the prints of the posters at the iam8bit store to be shipped worldwide, meaning all those movies you thought should have been made can now live on on your bedroom walls forever.

Or at least until they make Independence Day 2 and everything gets blown to bits anyway …
