I have said it before, and I will say it again – I love Sir David Attenborough.
He has long been a heartfelt appreciator and champion of the natural world, his passion obvious in every single documentary series such as Life of Birds, The Blue Planet and The Blue Planet 2, and Planet Earth 1 and 2, he has either been instrumental in creating or narrating, and which have sported his very distinctive vocal style and crips, larger-than-life images of animals and plants.
Now he an integral part of a new documentary series on Netflix, Our Planet, which will document the glory and majesty of the natural world but also examine how profoundly it is in danger in a way that is unprecedented in the life our beautiful blue home, something with which Attenborough is all too familiar.
“All across our planet, crucial connections are being disrupted. What we do in the next 20 years will determine the future for all life on Earth.” (Paste Magazine)
Sobering words which will hopefully engender conservational urgency in the people of earth, a great many of whom will get a chance to witness the stunning visual images and persuasive message of the series thanks to the 10 languages other than English in which Our Planet, which took four years to film in more than 50 countries, appears.
Our Planet premieres on Netflix on 5 April.
